Black Mesa Incident [PART ONE] (Based Off of 1998 Video Game)

G
ordon Freeman stepped out of the trolley, and it was a special day in the Black Mesa Industries.
He was greeted by a Blue Shift Security Guard Barney Calhoun.
"Good morning, Dr. Freeman. Today's the day isn't it," said Barney.
Gordon didn't say a word.
"Today's the day the scientists test out the giant Xen crystal's portal opening, Gordon."
Gordon still didn't say a word. He wasn't much of a talker. Actually, he wasn't much of a talker at ALL. Somehow, people still understood him.

Barney opened the gates to the facility, and Gordon went in. Dr. Isaac Kleiner was watching another Blue Shift Guard work on the computer.
"Mornin', Gordon," said the Blue Shift Guard.
Gordon waved at him and walked off. He heard Dr. Kleiner say, "Today's the day that Freeman tests whether our giant Xen crystal actually opens up a portal to another dimension! I hope he does well."
Then the Blue Shift Guard said, "Yes. Gordon is a highly-trained professional. Nothing will stop him. The test will go splendidly!"
"Well, did you at least make sure to E-Mail Dr. Vance to expect..."
But Gordon walked out of earshot before he could hear what Dr. Kleiner had to say.

Gordon got to his lab and put his suitcase on the desk. He took a sip of his coffee and walked to the locker room. He looked for the locker that said "FREEMAN" on it. He grabbed the items he needed, and now had to wear his HEV suit.

Dr. Harrison, who had curly white hair and a grey mustache walked up to Gordon and told him, "Your suit is all ready, Freeman. The suit should fit you like a glove. I've added quite a lot of protection to your suit, but the only thing we did not add was the helmet so you are going to have to wear it without it."
Gordon slipped on his suit and a robotic voice from the suit said,
"ALL PRIMARY SYSTEMS ONLINE. WELCOME, TO THE COMFORT OF THE HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENT SUIT."
Gordon was ready to enter the test chamber.

Gordon walked down the corridor to the test chamber 2B, and Dr. Harrison was waiting for him, as well as Dr. Griffiths.
"Ah, Gordon," Dr. Harrison said, "I see you're all ready to take this mission," he pointed at a big empty room, "Step in here."
Gordon did as he was told, and Dr. Griffiths followed. This room separates the Test Balcony Watch from the test chamber.
"Alright Dr. Freeman," Dr. Griffiths said, "I prepared most of the systems and I hope you know what your doing- um... actually, we'll just tell you exactly what to do on the intercom, b-but I just... I just hope that-"
"Oh, for Heaven's sake, Dr. Griffiths;" Dr. Harrison interrupted, "Gordon doesn't need to hear all this, he's a highly-trained professional and nothing will happen to him. So stop your yammering! You're just too nervous."

Dr. Griffiths was anxious despite him not being the person who is actually going in the test chamber.
"This test could kill everyone if failed," he stuttered, "Please Gordon! Do your best!"
Gordon gave a little nod, and a big gate in the room opened. Gordon walked inside the test chamber, and was greeted by a gigantic Xen crystal, hovering mid-air between two nozzles that seemed to shoot lasers to break the fabric of space.

This giant Xen crystal came from a dimension called "Xen". A dimension with aliens, creatures, and creepy-crawlies that live in harmony there. There were millions of small Xen crystals which you could hold in your hand, but this giant Xen crystal was found several months ago and was taken to this science facility.

The purpose of this test was to see if the giant Xen crystal could somehow open a portal to Xen. The machines were programmed to use undecillion energy bolts to break the fabric of space, combined with the fact that the Xen crystal was made in Xen, this could break the space and open a space hole. However, to ensure complete safety, the machines have also been programmed to make the portal one-way, meaning that if any living hostiles live in Xen (which the scientists have no knowledge of... yet,) they wouldn't be able to enter Earth. Only humans would be able to enter the portal to Xen. Hostiles would be blocked from entering Earth.

Dr. Gordon Freeman, will now risk his life for this test, hoping that all goes well.
